Here We Go

"Here We Go, Here We Go, Here We Go". That is the chant I heard all week long. Poppa took Aidan to the fire truck parade last weekend, and one of the antique fire trucks had chanting firemen. The next day I took Aidan to the community parade and we caught a bag full 'o candy plus a shirt full of political candidate stickers. Fun times had by all.

This weekend Kyle and I had our first childless weekend since Aidan was born. We attended the wedding of a college friend in Minocqua, WI. Kyle asked if it was too late to return the kids. I said that we probably appreciated the weekend so much BECAUSE we have kids. Forty-eight hours to only be responsible for yourself is unheard when you're a parent. That made the weekend that much more relaxing. A mental health weekend. Nana and Poppa were up again to watch the kids, with Grandpa and Aunt Marsha taking over on Sunday morning when my parents had to leave. The saying "it takes a village to raise kids" certainly applied this weekend.
