You Know It's Winter When...

everyone in your house has a face covered in snot and is coughing up a lung. Well, almost everyone. Somehow Kyle has managed to dodge this bullet, but Aidan, Aubrey and I have been feeling pretty awful this week. Aubrey was the first come down with this nasty cold, so I don't think it's something I picked up at school. Nobody's happy when Mommy's not happy...at least that's how it works in this household. The kids seem to be picking up on my short-tempered vibes and there has been a lot of screaming and yelling this week. (from me and the kids)

In happier times, aka: just last week, Kyle took Aidan to the outdoor ice rink for his very first skating lesson. It was late afternoon and I was shooting right into the sun, but you can hear Aidan's excitement. You'll just have to use your imagination to picture the pure joy on Aidan's face as he took to the ice for the first time.

For me, you know it's winter when 8 of my 10 fingers have cuts/splits on them from the cold weather. I know it's winter when I pay $300+ in gas and electricity combined. I know it's winter when the only life my hair has is the static electricity...yeah, good times!
